Tipo de Atividade: Your main topic will be one of the following:- programming and examining multi agent simulations on different types of networks- programming machine learners to classify signals recorded from the human brain - programming algorithms for evaluating computer network robustness and applying them to models of the human brainSoftware that we use includes Matlab, R, SPM, FSL.General information about our group:You will work in a multidisciplinary research group that consists of engineers, medical doctors, psychologists and other disciplines. You will have the opportunity to learn about the acquisition and processing of functional neuroimaging data (EEG, MEG, fMRI). You will work on your own research project, which will fit into the themes described below, and will also have the opportunity to publish this project if you meet the project deadlines, and if you can write a text in scientific English (with the help of supervision). Daily supervision will be done by a PhD student or postdoc. You will also have direct interaction with the group leader, who is both a medical doctor and computer science engineer, one to two times per week during lab meetings and personal supervision appointments. English is frequently used in Belgium, especially in the scientific milieu. Knowledge of an official Belgian language (Dutch or French) is not necessary. During the project, you will have the opportunity to meet and discuss your work with people from other Belgian Universities, and from spin-off companies with which our group is involved. If your project is successful, we can discuss possibilities for acquiring a PhD scholarship in Brussels, or look into possibilities for further exchange projects with your home university.
